Chris DaileyFounder, The Sports Court Recruiting is hard. Especially when you have high academic standards and aren’t in ideal weather.
And despite checking both of those boxes, Notre Dame’s Head Coach, Brian Kelly has found a way to recruit some of the top talent in the nation, both on the gridiron and in the classroom. “We would like to have Notre Dame maybe be in a warmer weathered climate,” Coach Kelly said with a chuckle, “but these are the challenges we embrace because it gives us a student-athlete who gives us the commitment of the academics of a great university like Notre Dame.” Despite the hardships of recruiting, Kelly has managed to win football games at the University of Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish are set to face the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl, competing for a spot in the National Championship. “We’ve taken these challenges and still have won football games. Despite challenges geographically in recruiting, we still have an opportunity to win a National Championship, and we’re proud of that,” Coach Kelly stated. Known as ‘O-Line U’ thanks to its tremendous offensive line, Notre Dame is managing to succeed despite all the difficulties mentioned. Coach Brian Kelly can add to the storied Notre Dame history with a win tonight against Alabama and all eyes will be on him and the Irish as many are anxious to see if Notre Dame can keep it close against an NFL-caliber Alabama team.
