Roberto Mancini is a fantastic player, currently a prospect for the Saginaw Spirit and playing for the Mississauga Reps. He was recently drafted with the 88th overall selection in the OHL Draft. The 16 year old has loads of potential and is a player many should keep their eyes on.
What do you like most about the sport of hockey?
What I like most about hockey is the whole game. I love hockey it has been my passion since I was a little kid. I love the pressure to do something special, I also love being with all the boys because no other sport has a bond like a bunch of hockey boys do.
How did you feel after being drafted by the Saginaw Spirit?
After being drafted by Saginaw I was so excited. Before I could give my mom and dad a hug my phone was already blowing up. Then Saginaw actually called me and made it so much more surreal.
Do you have a NHL player you look up too, is so who?
I look to John Klingberg because he is an all grey defenseman. He has great offense power, great puck movement and has great vision (hockey IQ).
Go to snack on the road?
My go to snack on the road is probably a banana or some nuts or a protein bar.
I don’t eat candy to much but my favorite would have to be Reese’s peanut butter cups.
My favorite is probably Chastised by lil baby.
Any hobbies outside of hockey?
My hobbies outside of hockey is rugby, soccer and a wide variety of sports. I love all sports.
Biggest role model?
My biggest role model is my mom. I look up to her everyday, she is brave, courageous, and very competitive,just like me.
What was your favorite NHL team growing up?
My favorite NHL team is the Dallas stars because I like John klingberg and Jamie Benn. They are both something special to the game of hockey and they are both top players on the team.
Describe yourself in 3 words.
My self in three words would be energetic, athletic, and competitive.
Biggest obstacle/setback you’ve faced in your career so far?
My biggest obstacle is probably finishing adversity on having a bad season points wise and play wise. My game just wasn’t where I needed it to be and I had to battle the adversity. But I battled through it and came back the following year with an amazing season.
Any advice for kids trying to go pro?
My advice would be to never give up and do the things you love.
